Mir Dost Muhammad Mazari son of Major (R) Tariq Mehmood Mazari was born on August 15, 1980 in Karachi. He graduated in 2002 from University of Karachi. An agriculturist, who remained Member National Assembly during 2008-13; functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Water & Power during 2008-12; and Minister of State for Communications during 2012-13. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2018 and has served as Deputy Speaker of this Assembly from 2018-22. He has travelled to UK, USA, Dubai, Malaysia, Thailand, Bulgaria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Philippines and Singapore. His grandfather, Mir Balakh Sher Mazari was Member of Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1956-58 and Member of Punjab Assembly during 1972-77. He also served as Member, National Assembly of Pakistan for six terms during 1955-58, 1962-64, 1977, 1985-88, 1990-93, 1993-96; and functioned as Caretaker Prime Minister in 1993. His uncle, Mr Zahid Muhammad Mazari was Member of Punjab Assembly during 1993-96; functioned as Minister for Wildlife and Excise & Taxation; and his another uncle, Mr Riaz Mehmood Mazari served as Member Punjab Assembly during 1985-88 and is a sitting MNA.
