Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid son of Mian Muhammad Rashid was born on April 21, 1954 in Lahore. He obtained the degree of M.A (Economics) in 1978 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He served as Chairman, Union Council for two terms during 1983-91. A businessman, who remained Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90, 1990-93, 2013-18 and functioned as Leader of the Opposition and Chairman, Public Accounts Committee-I. He has returned to Punjab Assembly for the fourth term in General Elections 2018 and is functioning as Minister for Local Government & Community Development. He functioned as Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering during 2018-21. He has travelled to USA, UK and Dubai.
